Hey there! You’ve stumbled upon my first blog entry in what I hope to be a long run. I go by Khal here on the internet and have been a fan of anime for a long time, which has led me to creating this!

I have aspired to create a website dedicated to anime, but however, am not exactly an expert web designer, programmer, or really good at anything other than coming up with the ideas. Creating this is greatly in thanks to Tallon, my brother, who co-admins 2dcomplex.com with me and also is in charge of designing all of our graphics.

To learn more about myself or what I intend for this blog feel free to read the About section by clicking the link up top.

I chose the name Sakura no Shita which roughly translates to “Beneath the Cherry Blossoms” for a few reasons (on a side note I understand that grammatically it isn’t exactly written this way, however for the purpose of titling the blog I think it sounded best written as the title shows). The most prominent is because of my recent trip to Japan. I stayed in Tokyo again and lucky for me our timing was good. The Cherry Blossoms were out a week earlier than they had predicted and I was able to see them across the city in full bloom. The city, the palace, temples, parks, streets…all were lined with the beautiful trees. I’d have to say, that in the Japanese shows I’ve seen, and in Anime, Manga, and all that, the cherry blossoms have always been a powerful icon and used to paint the moments. Having experienced these myself in real life, I can understand now why they’re such an important part of Japanese culture and why they have such an impact on people. So the reason I’ve chosen this is bascially, because of the impact they had on me and how sitting under the cherry trees and watching the petals fall can put life into perspective. I hope thats what I can at least give you a taste of with this blog! ^_^
